Oh I see, from using Google Translate I think I understand a bit more, the secondary mirror on this Mewlon 210 was being deformed slightly by the surface that it was bonded to? Odd, since it looks like it was riding against a 2mm cork sheet as installed by the factory and not directly glued to the Aluminium backing plate? Wierd that this could cause such dramatic Astigmatism. I thought that Takahashi 'scopes were made better than this? Apperently not! Regards, Alistair G.

Was the secondary mirror in this Mewlon 210 glued onto it's backing plate off centre from the factory? I seem to have a similar problem with my own C11, in that I see "chromatic needles" at certain rotational positions of my 2 different brand Star Diagonals, and it cannot be fixed by adjusting the collimation. I suspect that my C11's secondary mirror is either mounted off centre on it's backing plate, or has been ground off centre (bevel edge is not the same thickness all the way around the edge), or my primary is off centre! My C11 still has very good optics, with hard round balls of light at 700x with one prominent ring around the central Airy Disc, and rather fainter outer rings. Did you solve the problem by cutting the Mewlon's secondary mirror off it's backing plate and re-glue-ing the secondary back onto it's backing plate properly centred? Regards, Alistair G.
